What Should Be Considered When Writing an Italy Tourist Visa Request Letter?

People who will travel to Italy for touristic purposes must write an Italy Tourist Visa request letter either through iData or directly addressed to the Italian Consulate General in Istanbul.

• Purpose of Travel: The purpose of the trip to the country should be clearly stated. If you are going with a tour company, the phrase "I will join a touristic tour" should be included, and tour documents (vouchers) should be attached.
• Rotation and Other Countries: People applying for a Type C Tourist visa should clearly state in their letter if they are not only going to Italy (for example, if they will transit from Italy to France). Rules for the country of first entry and the country of longest stay must be considered.

Two-Letter Rule for Employees and Sponsors

When applying for an Italy visa, you may need to submit two different letters depending on your status:

• Employees: You must submit both your personal tourist letter that you wrote and a Company Leave Approval Letter on Letterhead that you will get from your workplace.
• Students or Housewives: In addition to the tourist visa letter you will write yourself, it is mandatory to add a Sponsorship Letter signed by a first-degree relative (Mother, father, or spouse) who will cover your expenses.
