What is a Cascade Visa Cover Letter?

The "Cascade System", which came into effect with the latest update in the European Union's visa code, stipulates the gradual issuance of 1, 3, and 5-year long-term Schengen visas to applicants with a good past visa history. However, sometimes consulates can overlook this rule. A Cascade visa cover letter is a strategic document that politely reminds the consulate of this law and allows you to officially request the long-term visa you are entitled to.

How to Write a Cover Letter to Get a Long-Term Visa?

To benefit from the Cascade rules, you must definitely state these three elements in the letter you will write:

The number of old Schengen visas you have used in the last 3 years (Emphasize that you used these visas in accordance with the laws).
Your need to travel to the Schengen area frequently (For example; "I frequently attend fairs for business" or "I love exploring Europe as a tourist").
A request for a long-term (1, 3, or 5-year) Multi (Multiple-entry) visa by referring to EU Visa Code Article 24(2) (Cascade rules).

It is recommended that you always prepare this letter in English.
