South Korea has become one of the most preferred far east destinations for Turkish tourists and students in recent years. Both its cultural richness and the fact that visa processes are much more relaxed compared to European countries increase this demand.

Does South Korea Require a Visa from Turkish Citizens?

No. Under the visa exemption agreement between Turkey and South Korea, all Turkish citizens holding Ordinary (Bordeaux), Special (Green), or Service (Grey) passports are exempt from visas for touristic and commercial travels up to 90 days.

K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is a digital system that allows citizens of countries with visa-free travel rights to undergo a security screening before crossing the South Korean border.

• Required Documents: A valid passport, biometric photograph (in digital format), and a credit card for payment.
• Fee: The official K-ETA application fee is 10,000 KRW (approximately 7-8 USD).
• Validity Period: An approved K-ETA is generally valid for 3 years (or until your passport expires) and grants multiple entry rights.

These sites may demand exorbitant fees such as 50, 100 or even 150 dollars from you for an 8-dollar transaction. Make absolutely sure to apply only through the official site with the .go.kr extension.
